To calculate your Big 3 accurately you need three pieces of information: your birth date, your birth time and your birth location. The Sun sign only requires your date. The Moon sign requires your date and time — the Moon moves fast enough that the sign can change mid-day. The Rising sign requires all three, because it changes every two hours.
If you don't know your birth time, your Sun and Moon signs will still be accurate in most cases. The Moon sign may be uncertain if you were born near a sign change.
